Sania and Martina knocked out of Wimbledon

It is a shock loss for Sania Mirza and Marina Hingis, the defending champions and top-seeded pair after they are knocked out by the fifth-seeded pair Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova in the quarter-finals of the women’s doubles event at the Wimbledon on Thursday evening.
The Hungary and Kazakhstan pair defeated India and Switzerland pair 6-2 6-4 in just 68 minutes. With this, the unsuccessful campaign of the Indian ended as she already lost other events previously in the tournament. It was the day of Hungary and Kazakhstan pair as they downed the favourites and a greatly looked-after pair in women’s doubles in the tournament.
Though the pair tried hard to get back on the track but their opponents outfoxed them in the next set. The Indo-Swiss pair had previously won many matches, including three Grand Slam titles. Sania and Martina (Santina) claimed the Australian Open earlier this year. Santina had struck quite a partnership both on and off the court. According to reports, the pair won a remarkable 36 matches in a row.
