Turkey sends 11,000 tonnes humanitarian aid to Gaza

In an attempt to warm-up relations between Turkey and Gaza, Turkey has delivered its 1st shipment of humanitarian aid in six years to the Gaza Strip – a week after Turkey and Israel reconciled their differences.
A truck full of much more than food, clothes and toys has been delivered to the people of Gaza strip. To some Palestinians it represents hope that this might be a first step towards meaningfully easing Israel’s nine-year blockade in Gaza. A Hamas official said that Turkey is trying to do something good for Palestinians. May be they have their own political calculations and considerations, but we feel that Turkey is all the time is honest to the Palestinian cause. A shipment called Lady Leyla brought 11,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid.
